Architectural Digest recently named Ward Village the "Number One Master Planned Community in the U.S.".  It was a bit of a losing game for the other contestants though, because this Kakaako area neighborhood has the beach and the spectacular ocean views that are the backdrop for Ward Village condo highrises.  Not to say that the "master planned" part is no big deal.  Each highrise is designed for maximum views even thouth this is a high density area.  On the ground, residents can gather at the commons area for yoga, or take a short walk to all sorts of restaurants and shopping.  Unlike some master planned communities, Ward Village has a grocery store (Whole Foods) within walking distance, so you don't have to get in your car for this essential errand.

This announcement arrives just in time for the announcement of the latest highrise in Ward Village, A‘ali‘i, a 751 unit condo building that emphasizes efficiency.  The largest condos in the building are only 837 square feet, which will keep costs down to let middle income buyers enjoy all the fun Ward Village offers.
